ACME is a protocol that automates the management of public key infrastructure (PKI) certificates. It allows for the automated deployment, issuance, renewal, and revocation of certificates.
Certify Certificate Manager can manage free ACME automated HTTPS certificates for IIS, Windows, and other services.
System Requirements
- The software will normally run on the server which is running your website or service, especially when http domain validation is required.
- Windows 64-bit versions, .Net 4.6.2 or higher installed. Operating systems no longer supported by Microsoft may work but they are not offically supported.
- Certificates from the Let’s Encrypt Certificate Authority expire every 90 days, so you must use the default Auto Renew feature or request a new certificate manually.
- This software depends on services from trusted Certificate Authorities such as Let’s Encrypt. Service interruptions associated with certificate authorties are outwith the control of this application.
If you need to use Certify The Web Certify Certificate Manager to generate certificates and deploy them to a non-Windows platform, follow these steps:
- After generating the certificate, choose the deployment option to save it locally only.
- Open Windows Certificate Manager, locate the recently generated certificate under Personal Certificates, and export it to a file (you will need to set an import password). The exported certificate file format will be .pfx.
- Refer to https://www.ms8.com/certificate-conversions/ for certificate format conversion.
